Colvin was born in Gulgong on 07/11/1910.

​He married to Eileen Isabel Hourigan in Rylstone on 26/12/1931. Eileen was born in Majors Creek on 11/01/1914.

​They had the following children:

• Colleen Patricia Gaudry (1932 –       )

• Mary May Gaudry (1934 – 2008)

• Shirley Doreen Gaudry (1935 –       )

• June Gaudry (  ?  – 1936)

​Colvin died 23/08/1944 in Auburn (age 33).

 Eileen remarried in Wagga Wagga in 1939 to Bert Francis Lind and she died on 13/07/1988.
