Valerie was born in Gulgong on 10/03/1902.

​She married to James Leycester Garrard in 1921 in Newtown. James was born in St Peters on 09/07/1902 and baptised on 24/08/1902.

They had the following children:

• Valerie Molly Joy Marcia Garrard (1922 –       )

• Leslie James Garrard (1924 – 2018)

• June Emily Mae Garrard (1931 –       )

Valerie died in Kogarah on 06/06/1950.
James died on 24/07/1973 in Kogarah.
