Mavis was born in Sydney on 18/07/1917.

​She married to Reginald Henry Costigan in 1942 in Quirindi. Reginald was born in Walcha on 06/09/1913.

They had the following children:

• Kathleen Costigan (1943 –       )

• Louise Costigan (1945 –       )

• James Costigan (1947 –       )

• Elizabeth Costigan (1950 –       )

• Sylvia Costigan (1958 –       )

​Mavis died in Maitland on 30/11/1982.

Reginald died in Newcastle on 08/01/2002.
