George was born in Carcoar on 17/01/1914.

​He was married to Jessie Una Neale Connelly in Katoomba on 02/09/1942. Jessie was born in Brewarrina on 02/07/1920.

​They had the following children:

• Arthur James Leabeater (1943 – 2005)

• Mary Sybil Leabeater (1946 –       )

• Julie Frances Leabeater (1949 –       )

​George died in Katoomba on 24/10/1985.

Jessie died on 07/01/2013 in Greenhills Nursing Home.
