Russell was born on 21/02/1855 at “Vanderville” The Oaks and baptised on 26/03/1855 in St Mark, Picton.

He married Jane Isabella Bailey on 17/02/1887 at All Saints C/E, Leichhardt NSW. Jane was born on 01/02/1858 in Maitland.

​The had 4 children:

• Doris Isabel Wild (1888 – 1942)

• Ethel Florence Wild (1891 – 1976)

• Russell Mileham Wild (1894 – 1956)

• Harold Christopher Wild (1900 – 1919)

​Jane died in Goulburn on 04/01/1933.
Russell died on 09/05/1937 at Avoca Rest Home Bondi and is buried in C/E section of Rookwood.
