George Phillip Kable (1898 – 1917)

George was born in Newbridge in 1898.

Private George Phillip Kable of the 33rd Battalion, Australian Infantry, who was killed in action on 07/06/1917, aged just 19.

A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Kyarra (A55) on 5th June 1916. He was killed in action at Messines Ridge, Belgium, near Ploegsteert Wood.
